T200 - How bad is this phone, really?
I don't know anyone [else] who owns this phone. It's right now at Sony
Ericsson getting looked at for poor reception in transmitting (TX) mode. I
made several recordings to my voice mail from several phones alternating
networks and swapping SIM cards. The phone is unlocked.
Basically, the sound quality from me (other party hearing me) sounds poor
ie. distant. The sound quality in RX (receiving mode) is very good in my
opinon. I also experienced many dropped calls with Rogers AT&T. I'm in
Vancouver BC. With other older phones and newer phones TX mode sounds
awesome! Even with my TDMA phone my recording is very good.
So, how bad is this phone? Or is it defective?

Re: T200 - How bad is this phone, really?
Right now I have this SonyEriccson T200 phone with fido.ca, and I didn't
notice any bad or poor sound quality (but I didn't any other cell phone to
compare with, either). However I recently dropped my T200 phone to my hard
driveway and it is dead now. So I am now considering SonyEriccson T300 or
T310 (but somehow I don't like its joystick-like switch for up, down, left
and right moves..).

Hmm. This is quite fascinating. Either not many people here have used the
SE T200 or they can't bother to reply.
Too bad, because if I had a better idea of the sound quality, I would know
how to proceed.

i've just switched to t300 and my gf has a t310. i had doubt about
the joystick as well before hand. to my surprise, it was not hard at
all to use. i would say the t300's joystick is better than the t310
because of the tip used a different material. compare to my old
phones (motarola timeport and nokia 6185), the sound is too soft;
using the handsfree makes it worst. i think t310 is louder than t300.
i guess it's the digital age...but imho, the lack of white noise make
it hard to tell if you are still connected or not.

Dude I just switched out of Rogers and trust me its theier service that
absolutely blows. I've had a fido for 3 days and I'm very happy with
it. I don't think there's anything wrong with the T200 (unless YOURS is
defective) I strongly believe its more from the rogers side than yours.
